The Implantation Clinic at London Women’s Clinic is designed for patients who have experienced failed embryo transfers despite good-quality embryos. The Implantation Clinic is designed to better understand the environment in which implantation takes place. By carefully assessing your endometrium during a controlled cycle, our specialists can develop a personalised treatment plan based on your individual results.
Successful implantation depends not only on embryo quality but also on the health and readiness of the womb lining. Research from Dr Mona Rahmati and Professor Nick Macklon shows that advanced endometrial testing can identify factors affecting implantation, helping to guide personalised treatment plans rather than relying on trial-and-error approaches.*

Initial appointment with a specialist, via referral or self-referral, to review your history and eligibility.
You will be prepared in a medicated “mock” HRT cycle for endometrial testing. During this stage, you’ll take prescribed medication to recreate the natural hormonal environment and ensure your womb lining is ready for the biopsy.

Important note: For optimal results, your frozen embryo transfer (FET) should take place within six months of your endometrial biopsy.
Laboratory analysis identifies potential causes of implantation failure and guides treatment recommendations.
Results reviewed with your specialist to set a personalised treatment plan. In rare cases, tests may need to be repeated.
The Implantation Clinic concept was pioneered by Professor Nick Macklon, a Senior Consultant Gynaecologist and IVF Specialist, and Group Medical Director whose decades of experience in reproductive medicine have shaped the understanding of human embryo implantation worldwide.
With over 250 published studies and numerous international awards, his research continues to inform innovative approaches to IVF and reproductive care. Today, his expertise is a cornerstone of the LWC programme, ensuring patients benefit from the latest scientific insights.
The Implantation Clinic also draws on the specialist skills of Dr Mona Rahmati, a Senior Consultant Gynaecologist and IVF Specialist with a PhD in reproductive immunology.
She focuses on helping patients with recurrent implantation failure, applying cutting-edge immune profiling tests to tailor treatment and restore balance in the endometrium.

‘I undertook Kind IVF, which even though is nurse led as opposed to consultant led, the care, professionalism and knowledge is there. The nurses consult with consultants during your protocol, so the difference really is you see the nurses instead. The medication doses are less and less medication, but this doesn't mean it will be less effective, it is an option worth exploring, as the cost is less and can open the door when more traditional ivf is out of reach. I am currently pregnant having gone through the kind ivf protocol one time.’
