IVF Success Rates at London Women's Clinic

When choosing a fertility clinic, success rates matter — but so does understanding what those numbers really mean for your individual circumstances. At London Women's Clinic, we publish our data openly, compare it honestly against the national average, and take the time to explain what it means for you personally. Because the most important success rate is yours.

CARE THAT STARTS WITH UNDERSTANDING YOU

Fertility success rates can vary widely. Age, diagnosis, medical history, ovarian reserve and the treatment recommended all play a part. This can make the numbers feel confusing or even overwhelming.

That’s why we focus first on you. During your consultation, we take time to understand your history, answer your questions, and explain what your individual chances may look like. Our aim is to give you honest, personalised guidance so you feel informed, supported and in control of your next steps.

What can affect your chances of success?

Many people worry about whether they are “too late” or whether something is wrong. In reality, fertility outcomes are influenced by a combination of factors.

Understanding these factors helps us recommend the treatment most appropriate for you. Our aim is always to give you clear information, without judgement.

Age, as egg and sperm quality change over time
Ovarian reserve
Sperm health
Past medical or fertility conditions that may have an ongoing impact
The treatment approach chosen
Lifestyle factors, such as smoking, weight, and general health

Understanding the Numbers

Success rates can feel difficult to interpret. We believe it is important that you understand what the figures really mean before making any decisions.

Per cycle refers to how many live births are achieved from embryo transfers created during a single IVF cycle. Some patients may have more than one embryo transfer from the same egg collection before achieving a pregnancy. This measure helps explain the chance of having a baby from one egg collection.

Per patient refers to how many patients achieve a live birth after completing their treatment. This may include more than one egg collection or embryo transfer within the same type of treatment. It helps show, overall, how many patients go on to have a baby following treatment.

Per embryo transferred describes the number of live births for each individual embryo transferred. This is the reporting method preferred by the HFEA, as it shows the chance of a live birth from a single embryo. Where two embryos are transferred, both are included in the calculation.

During your consultation, we explain how these figures relate to your own situation, so you can make decisions based on clarity rather than uncertainty.
