Fertility support that looks after the whole of you

For many same-sex couples, the dream is to both play a biological role in parenthood. Reciprocal IVF - or Shared Motherhood - makes this possible, allowing both partners to share in the biological journey and celebrate their shared connection from the very start.

What is Fertility Counselling?

Fertility counselling provides you with a safe and confidential space to talk through how your treatment is affecting you, physically, emotionally and mentally. Our counselling services are available to all of our patients and donors, whether you’re just starting treatment, in the middle of IVF or processing an outcome that wasn’t what you hoped for.

  • Managing stress, anxiety and overwhelm
  • Coping with failed cycles, miscarriage or loss
  • Navigating relationships or difficult decisions
  • Helping you feel more grounded during treatment

Counselling is available before, during and after treatment. You don’t have to be in crisis to access this support, many patients find it helpful to talk things through with someone who understands fertility care.

We know it can be a rollercoaster waiting to take that pregnancy test and our Patient Care Coordinators are on hand to support you during this time.

Implications Counselling

Implications counselling helps you explore the wider, long-term aspects of fertility treatment particularly when donor conception is involved. This type of counselling is designed to support informed, confident decision making not to judge or steer your choices.

Implications counselling can support you with:

  • Understanding donor conception and future family dynamics
  • Considering how and when to talk to a child about their conception
  • Exploring legal parenthood and consent
  • Feeling comfortable and informed before signing consent forms
  • Addressing common misconceptions and questions about fertility treatment

Implications counselling is recommended and sometimes required, for certain treatments. It’s also available simply as a space to reflect and ask questions at your own pace.
